Goodman Property Trust maintains its properties to a high standard. The recent upgrade of fire systems for certain properties has ensured these facilities also provide the safest working environment for customers.
New systems were designed and installed for 25 buildings in Auckland and Christchurch that linked the automated alarms or sprinklers directly to the local Fire Brigade. The upgrade has been welcomed by insurance companies and is more than the building code regulations require.
The work was undertaken in consultation with each customer and the work programme is adapted to minimise disruption to their business. After hours, weekend work and even night shifts were undertaken to complete the project.
It wasn’t without its technical challenges either with the refrigerated distribution specialist, Big Chill, requiring a heat detection device that worked in a freezer!
Both customers and insurance companies welcomed the upgrades. Particularly because they are more than the building code regulations required and are expected to reduce incidents.
