To address these concerns, Goodman is implementing several solutions across its portfolio, focusing on enhancing energy efficiency, lowering emissions and ultimately reducing operational costs.

Solutions

Submetering Implementation

Goodman is committed to installing submeters across 100% of its core portfolio by 2026. These submeters track energy consumption in key areas such as HVAC, lighting, and power usage.

The Goodman Energy Management (GEM) submetering system collects, stores, and analyses energy data across offices and warehouses, providing real-time reports and insights.

By identifying opportunities to reduce power consumption, customers can make informed decisions that lead to long-term cost savings and improved energy efficiency.

LED Lighting Upgrades

Goodman aims to upgrade its core portfolio so that all properties feature LED lighting by 2025. So far, the upgrades have covered over 227,000 sqm of space and are expected to generate $1.5m of operational savings for its customers.

LED lights with in-built smart sensors use up to 75% less energy compared to traditional lighting systems, which significantly reduces emissions, energy costs and the overall carbon footprint.

Solar Energy Generation

Goodman has installed over 2.4 MWp of solar panels across 280,000 sqm of its portfolio, giving customers access to renewable energy sources.

The solar energy generated is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 354 Kiwi homes.

This onsite renewable generation reduces reliance on the traditional power grid, improving energy resilience while offering a sustainable energy alternative.
